need to download MS Word
There is no where from which you can download a version of Word for Windows
98. If you want Word, you would have to buy it. If all you need to do is type something and print it out, use either Notepad or Wordpad. The latter will give you a few more features. They should both be on your PC under Accessories. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis. And to add to Doug's excellent response - if you *do* buy Word, make sure it
is Word 2002 or older. Word 2003 will *not* work on Win 98 and there's nothing you can do to it to make it work. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote in message ... need to download MS Word
Word 97 (available standalone or included with Office 97), Word
2000 (available standalone or included with Office 2000 and Works Suite 2000-2001), and Word 2002 (available standalone or included with Office XP and Works Suite 2002-2006) will run on Windows 98 computers. The current version of Word is Word 2003 (available standalone or included with Office 2003), but it will not run on Windows 98 computers. You get Word by purchasing it... it is not legally available as a free download from Microsoft or anywhere else. Dan wrote: i have windows 98 i need to download MSWord onto my computer. Is Word compatible? If so, how do I get it? I tried the Microsoft site but couldn't find it. |

As Garfield says, you can't download it. You have to buy it. The version
that's currently for sale is 2003 and it will NOT run on Windows 98. And you can't change something to make it work - it ain't gonna happen. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] "Dan" wrote in message ... i have windows 98 i need to download MSWord onto my computer. Word 2002 is still available as part of Works Suite, and I believe it may
run on Windows 98. -- Suzanne S.
