Default How do I create Word macro that will run properly using copy/past.

I am creating new macros in Word by hitting "record macro" then hitting Ctrl
V to copy in the text I need, then "stop recording." If I continue typing
the document and happen to use Ctrl C and Ctrl V to copy/paste, then that
information will override the last macro I created when I use it again.
Apparently, "record macro" is only recording the command strokes, Ctrl V, not
the text I copied into it. I don't want to have to recreate complicated
formatting when I am recording a macro and should be able to cut and paste to
create a new one. I have resorted to putting all my macro/shortcut text into
AutoCorrect but it has a memory limited capacity. Does anyone else have this
problem?
