Default Page numbering

I'm working on a long document. i want different sections to have page
numbers, starting with 1 and ranging to 9 or son in a section. How can i
"reset" the page numbering so there can be multiple page "1s" ans so forth??

I'm using word 2000 on a win2000 system

Create a new section and use the Format Page number command to restart the
page numbering for the new section. Also make sure that you have Link to
previous turned off.

This page explains the principles and necessary commands, with screenshots,
though you will have to adjust the exact specifics to your case.

It is not necessary to unlink sections just to restart numbering--or even to
change the number format.
