How do I lock an image into a word doc so that it doesn't move each time I
put text on?

Right click onto the image, then select format picture, then the layout tab -
there are several options there to keep your image where you want it.

"Lock anchor" doesn't do what you think it does, so that's not what you
want. In that same dialog, look for "Wrapping style" and choose anything
*but* "Inline with text".

If you're the same "Lisa" who asked the same question in another thread...

You first have to understand that a graphic in a Word document is handled in
one of only 2 ways:

1- In Line with Text [meaning it is treated as though it were a character in
a paragraph and is a part of the text flow] or

2- Floating [meaning that some form of Text Wrapping has been applied which
causes the text to flow in a certain way relative to the graphic. However,
the graphic is still anchored to a paragraph.]

Therefore, any graphic in the body of the document will move if the text it
is attached to moves. IOW, the graphic can't be glued to a "page" because
Word's file structure doesn't contain any *page* information. To prevent the
graphic from shifting when text is added/removed the graphic needs to go in
the Header/Footer of the document.

Since your other post indicated that you were trying to create a letterhead,
the following link should provide you with what you need:

Additionally, please be a bit more attentive to how you post. Your other
message was tacked onto another thread which dealt with a different subject
altogether (referred to as "hijacking" a thread), and it's also preferred
that you not post the same issue multiple times. Thanks.
