Default Disproportionate view of an A$ page in Landscape orientation

When changing from Portrait to landscape view in Word 2003, the page views
disproportionately. In landscape view, A4 Paper = 297 wide by 210 high, yet
the height ruler shows the page to be only approx 140mm high. Why is this
happening and how can I resolve?

G'day "Dave" ,

It starts counting from the MARGIN to the MARGIN :-)

Thus you must have 210-140 = 70mm of margins (35 top, 35 bottom
probably)
