Tracking the History of a Word Document
- Open the Word document that you want to track the history of.
- Click on the File tab in the top left corner of the screen.
- Click on Info in the left-hand menu.
- Click on Manage Document in the middle of the screen.
- Click on View Document Properties at the bottom of the drop-down menu.
- Click on the Versions tab.
- Here, you will see a list of all the versions of the document that have been saved. You can see the date and time that each version was saved, as well as who saved it.
- If you want to see the changes that were made in a specific version, click on the version and then click on Compare.
- This will open a new document that shows the changes that were made between the selected version and the previous version.
So, as you can see, it is possible to track the history of a Word document and see when it was opened and saved, as well as the changes that were made in each version.
