Form MACRO to tab between fields
I have created a MACRO from the Method 1 template shown in Article ID 212378.
This MACRO enable a protected form to tab between form fields. However, the MACRO will only allow tab forward, using 'SHIFT-TAB' does NOT tab backwards. Any advice? |

Of course it doesn't! The macro takes you exactly where the macro indicates
it should go on exit from the field. If you want to back tab, then don't use the macro. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org TM wrote: I have created a MACRO from the Method 1 template shown in Article ID 212378. Form MACRO to tab between fields
But why is a macro necessary to tab between form fields? This feature is
built in. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "Graham Mayor" wrote in message ... Of course it doesn't! Form MACRO to tab between fields
The macro in the referenced KB article sets the tab order between fields.
I'm guessing that one limitation is that you cannot use Shift+Tab to go backwards. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote in message ... The macros in that article, like the ones in
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFl...etTabOrder.htm, specify a different tab order than the default left-to-right. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. Form MACRO to tab between fields
As suggested my form requires both horizontal and vertical tabbing (some
information is required in columns within a table, and when complete go to the next column). As said before the macro only goes one way (not backward). I have subsequently tried using a version with the MACRO deleted and this did allow forward and backward tabbing (when the form was protected). "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: Ah, gotcha. -- Suzanne S. But, as previously stated, if you don't use the macro Word determines the
tab order (which may be quite all right). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "TM" wrote in message ...
