Default Capturing Data from a Word Document

I receive a copy of a legal posting in WORD which contains various data
element I need to extract to excel. The data elements I need to extract are
consistant in each legal posting. Some examples of the data elements a
name, address, document id, date, time, day, etc. My thought is I should be
using smart tags, but I am unsure how to use them. Please help I am combing
through mountains of data.

One would need to know exactly how the data is arranged to be able to create
the necessary code for this task.

I doubt that smart tags are the way to go as it would appear that you are
not creating the documents yourself.
