Does anyone know how to get rid of one or more backslashes that appear at the
end of a table of contents entry that contains quotation marks?

For example, the text in the document is
I am €œso€� much cooler

The field code is
{ TC €œI am \€œso\€� much cooler€� \f C \l €œ2€� }

The TOC is
I am €œso€� much cooler ......................................2\\

I am using MS Word 2002 with SP3. The option to use smart quotes in place
of straight quotes is enabled.

I think there may be more than one workaround for this, but the one that I
know works is to use two single quotes (in the TC field only) instead of an
escaped double quote. It won't look quite the same but won't cause these
problems.
