Default Shortcut Keys / AutoText Entries

I work in an environment where we generate thousands of letters and am trying
to speed up the process. I know how to create AutoText entries for these
letters & create a new toolbar for them and all that. What I'm looking to do
however, is see if it's possible to have one or any type of shortcut created
where the text (letter) will be pulled from a centralized location.

Put it this way, I want to to single click a toolbar or do a Keyboard
shortcut that will pull a letter from a shared library. So that if there are
ever any changes to the letter, we can just make the change to the letter and
not have to update everyone's AutoText entries. (we have over 100 associates).

Thanks!

It's not totally clear what you need to do. AutoText would normally be
used for individual pieces of boilerplate--eg, you might assemble
AutoText 1, AutoText 5, and AutoText 8 to create a single letter.

But if the entire letter is a single piece of boilerplate--eg, AutoText
1 creates a letter, AutoText 5 creates a different letter, then there is
no point in using AutoText at all. The usual approach would be to store
Letter 1, Letter 2, Letter 3, Letter 4, etc as templates on a central
server, and tell people to create documents from each template. You can
set Word so that the New Document dialog will show the templates on the
server as workgroup templates, I think. Since the master templates will
be stored on the server, that's the only file you need to update.

I'm not an expert with this type of setup, but clarify your question to
get better help.
