Default Printing checkbox borders

I have a document with a lot of checkboxes for user input. However, when I
print it, seeing all those checkbox borders is distracting.

In Excel, you can choose whether or not to have the border print or not. Is
there a similar feature in Word?

G'day "Jadie" ,

You can use a macro to replace your formfields with certain values to
the appropriate symbols.
