In my Word 2003 if I copy and paste some text from a Google supplied web
page and a word is displayed in Word with a red background because it was
the subject of my search, how do I remove the red background formatting in
Word?
I hope that is clear.
TIA

The easiest way I know to remove character formatting is to highlight
the text in question and press Alt-space.

However, prevention is better than cure. :-) Don't paste in the first
place; instead Paste Special and choose text without formatting.
