Default change the appearance of Hyperlinks

Hey

when I try to open a web page with Word, all the hyperlinks appear in a very
long form like {HYPERLINK ..... ....................... } when I right-click
on it and press "select hyperlink" then it returns to its blue, short self.
but if a page has hundreds of them...
how do I make it look like the blue short version from the get-go?
what did i do wrong in the first place?

thank you.

Sounds like you need to toggle field codes. Alt+F9
