Default Address Block - Word 2007

I have an address block in Word 2007 that displays a contact name in the
format [First Name] [Last Name] and [Spouse First Name] [Spouse Last Name].
The merge data source is a text file (comma separated values that gets
parsed correctly) and the fields are all mapped correctly.

It works fine if there is a spouse name entered; however, if the spouse name
is blank it displays [Last Name] Family. This is not the behavior when this
same document is used in pre-2007 versions of Word.

Has anyone else experienced this and is it a documented Word 07 bug with any
timeframe on correcting?

Jack

No, but then I have never used the address block. Why not just insert the
fields that you want to use in the configuration that you want them. In
this case of course, you may need to use an If ... then ... Else field to
control whether or not the and is included.

Hope this helps.

Normally I would; however, the person that is using this document is very
low tech and would not be able to maintain the If...Then...Else field.
