Default What keeps Autoshape Callouts in a document from being visible?

I used Autoshape Callouts to add some eye-catching comments to a document
under review. I see them on screen, as do several other users. But one user
reports that she cannot see them on screen, only when she prints. Is there
an option/setting controlling this behavior?

She needs to go to ToolsOptionsView, remove the check for Picture
Placeholders (if it's checked) and put a check in the box fro Drawings.
