Default Recently used list in word

Hello, All!

I have recently installed xp pro and office 2k3. I find in Word that the
recently used list under options is grayed out. How can this be fixed?

Thanks.

See reply to your previous duplicate question. It is not necessary to ask
the same question more than once, certainly not twice in less than five
minutes!

I would agree except the first time I sent it, when I checked it had been
deleted (i.e. message from OE is that message was no longer on server)
therefore I resent it.

Not only is my first message gone but your first answer is gone as well, so
here I sit not knowing the answer.

Thanks.

I see both your original request and my reply, which was:

See “‘Most recently used’ list missing from File menu and ‘Recently used
file list’ option unavailable in Office XP and 2003” at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=284896

I can see both too. Nothing has been deleted from the Microsoft Public
server. Are you connecting directly to microsoft.public.word.newusers or are
you still looking at public.windowsXP where you seem to have crossed posted?
It is highly likely that the cross post to Windows XP has been deleted.

I am connecting directly at each of them and the original message is not
visible to me via OE. I've had this happen one other time in the past; don't
know what it is about OE that makes it unaccessible.

Thanks.
