Default How can I permanently change the Normal template?

I want to change my Normal template to Arial 12, A4 paper, UK English
spelling and fuly justified. But no matter I do, it reverts to Times New
Roman, Legal, US English and Left justified. It is driving mad! I managed
to change easily in Word 2000, but 2003 is beating me. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

See

If you also have Adobe Acrobat 7, that can prevent saving changes to
Normal.dot. See the last section of
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adob...at_toolbar.htm.
