Is there an add-on for spell check in word that contains medical terminology?

There are third-party ones available.

No, these are not free. If you want a free spellchecker, make your own.

There are a couple of ways to go about this. You can add a custom dictionary
(which is really just a text file with a list of correctly spelled words) to
the built-in spelling checker, or you can get an add-in that hooks into
Word.

For the first, try the custom dictionary linked at
http://lawyersrighthand.com/2007/04/...icrosoft-word/.
The instructions there are reasonable, and you can also read
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/EditCustomDic.htm and
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/he...483191033.aspx.

Add-ins are almost always commercial software with fairly hefty prices. The
most popular seem to be Stedman's Medical Dictionary
(http://www.stedmans.com) and SpellEx
(http://spellex.com/products/definitions/meddic.htm).
