Default File permission error

I have one laptop (64 bit platform) with Vista (ugh!!) and Office 7 on it.
My other laptop has Windows XP and Office 2003. IN Word when I work with
files between the two versions on either LT, for the older Word when I want
to save it will give me a "file permission error" and cannot save file
to.......... and then it eventially will not save properly and the file is
corrupted.

I have a feeling it is due to the different versions of Word (and I back it
down to Wd 97-2003) when I save on the old version too.) Does anyone have any
other thougnts about this?

Your advice is appreciated! Geez I hate the new Word 7 !!!!
