I have a corrupted Word file. How can I fix it so the file can be opened?

Your solution works in repairing the file as a text file. I also have been
looking at some repair software that will recover the file in its orginal
Word format.

I would agree. But I received the file as an attachment to an e-mail.

Hi all,
I have a similar problem but my documents could not be rescued with the help
from "garfield"..
I think a virus destroyed them. The virus is gone but some of my
word-documents are impossible to repair!? Someone with another tip on how to
do?
