Default WORD 2002 In Track changes insertions show but not deletions!

I have show insertions/deletions on - it was working fine but all of a sudden
new insertions ares still showing (in red and underlined) but deletions are
no longer showing. The cursor just goes over the black letters - it used to
show red with a line through the words, but now, nothing. What happened and
how can I fix it. Thanks. Dan Potter
