Keep text from jumping away from table
OK, here's another question. Hopefully, this one will be simpler to solve.
When I put a table cell too close to regular text, the text jumps away from the table. I had to move the cell an inch below the text before it would flow back where it had been. How can I get the type to ignore the text box, or even print over it? |

From the Tables menu, select Table Properties and then on the Table tab, set
the desired alignment and then the Text wrapping and if necessary click on the Positioning button to vary the distance of the text from the table. -- Hope this helps. Doug,
Thanks for taking the time to help us out. I don't think I followed you. I tried your instructions and I can't see that you're asking me to do anything different except move the table using positioning coordinates instead of by grabbing and dragging. But in writing down everything I did in order to report back to you, I solved the problem! The reason I had to move the table nearly an inch and a half below the baseline of the text to keep it from jumping out of the way was because I had given the text a "space below" of 108 points! This was one of the first pieces I worked on here and apparently I had used space below to force a page break. So now I have inserted a page break instead. That has caused things on the second page to shift here and there, but I can reposition those pieces and now my table will fit where it belongs! Thanks for your help!
