Default Text box size changes randomly

I am using Word 2003 and have been having problems with text boxes in my
document. The text box sizes or contents seem to change randomly, usually
after I re-open the document. This usually causes some of the text to wrap
to the next line inside the box and is no longer visable. If I change some
text inside the box, it will usually return to its correct size. It seems to
be random because it does not happen every time and not always to the same
text boxes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In Format | Text Box, Text Box tab, check the "Word wrap text in AutoShape"
option, and clear the "Resize AutoShape to fit text" option. If this doesn't
help, you may want to treat the document as corrupt; see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm.

Thanks, Stefan. I'll try some of the suggestions and see how it goes.
