Variable Watermark
I am looking for a trick to use a list of names to be able to print a Word
document with a different name as a watermark on each printed document. This is to reduce chances of a leak since each document has the name of the recipient printed on them. Any ideas? |

Variable Watermark
One way is to use the doc as though it were a form letter & take advantage
of Mail Merge. The list of names would be in an Excel worksheet or a Word doc set up as a table. Insert the fields into the main letter, but you'll then have to cut them & paste into a Text Box on the Header/Footer layer positioned anywhere on the page (unless you want the recipient copies to have their names right in the Header or Footer). The content of the text box can be formatted for whatever font color & size you wish, but it will have to remain horizontal - you can't rotate the text. When you complete the merge you'll have one copy of the main doc with the recipient's name on each copy. Keep in mind that the "security" is only maintained if the docs are printed - anyone can remove the "watermarks" from an electronically transmitted doc.
