Default how do I create a word document that can have fill in the blank

I want to create a word document with blanks that my students can fill in at
their computers without the text shifting and moving. Is this possible in
Word? I currently have Office student and teacher edition 2003.

Thanks

A simple way is to use table cells with fixed widths. A more thorough
solution makes use of a form. For more, see

articles by MVP Dian Chapman about protected forms).
