Text does not come down to meet footer.
Hello,
I have a strange one here, I think. As you'll see in Image 1 below, the text does not always come down to meet the top of the footer area on some pages (on the top right page). The top left page is okay at this point. This seems to occur at random throughout the document. Image 1: http://oi42.tinypic.com/208hh6f.jpg In Image 2 below, you will see what happens if I enter a paragraph part way through the text. Now the top left page goes farther away from the footer, and the top right page descends closer to the footer. Image 2: http://oi40.tinypic.com/2e6a547.jpg Any ideas how I can stop this so the text always reaches just above the footer on every page? Thanks! |

Look for Spacing Above formatting (Paragraph dialog box) applied to the
footer paragraph. Note, however, that creating completely "balanced" pages is difficult in Word. For a discussion of the factors involved, take a look at http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/bottomline.htm. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "aluminum21" wrote in message ... Text does not come down to meet footer.
Four different settings can interact to yield uneven page lengths (and that's not even considering footnotes).
- Widow and Orphan Control (won't let a single line stand at the top or bottom of a page; that's what's affecting the only page break visible in your screen shot) - Keep Lines Together (paragraph will never break across a page) - Keep With Next (needed for headings and subheadings) - Space Before / Space After (if you're going to use it, you need to set it to a multiple or small fraction, e.g. 1/2, of the line spacing value) (In your second screen shot, the upper left arrow is pointing to an empty paragraph. Simply delete the paragraph.) On Saturday, August 3, 2013 3:21:44 AM UTC-4, aluminum21 wrote: Hello, I have a strange one here, I think.
