Default How do I wrap text inside a text field in a form?

I'm creating forms in Word 2003, and some of the fields need to be long text
fields (about 200 characters) for users to write comments. The fields are
inside a table, and I want the text to wrap so that it stays within the
boundaries of the table and doesn't change the table or the margins.

For one thing, do not limit your text input. The length (looking at
Properties) should be UNLIMITED. I personally like to work in tables. It's
been awhile since I worked with a form like this, but if my poor memory
serves me correctly, text should wrap in a cell.
have you tested the form? hmmmm... it has to be LOCKED (protected) -- I
save mine as a template and when I open a new document from that template,
the cursor position defaults to the first defined form field. I will check
more on this (but I am sure others will give you better input.

I just tried it in a table - set form fields in 3 cells (3 columns) and
locked the form and typed in the first cell. The text wrapped nicely. In
your case (not knowning what kind of table you are workiing with) you might
have to put a table within a table (nested)

On the Table menu, click Table Properties. Click the Table tab. Click
Options. In the dialog box, clear the option to "Automatically resize
to fit contents". Click OK to close the Table Options dialog box.

On the Column tab, specify a "Preferred width" for each of the table
columns. If you want to fix the height of the table, for each row
specify an exact height (on the Row tab).

When you are done, click OK to close the Table Properties dialog box.

I too need to wrap text inside a text field form in a table. I have set it
as unlimited text. I tried the the info below but it still doesn't work. I
am using Microsoft 2002. I put a text form field into my table. When I
protect my form and try to type in that field, the text form field will not
wrap in that column. How can I make it do that?

The table properties doesn't seem affect the text in my form. When I protect
the form, I can type but the words just disappear at the edge of the column
and do not wrap. Help...

Hi ?B?U0xK?=,

the form, I can type but the words just disappear at the edge of the column
and do not wrap.

Are you using a text field from the FORMS toolbar, or the CONTROLS toolbox? The
two are very different, and it sounds as if you're using the latter?
