Text Field Control Sequence
Hi,
I created a form or template with a bunch of text fields in it. When attempting to use the form & tabbing from field to field, the tab placement is all over the document. I would like to have a sequential order to tabe through the document, such as left-to-right or downward. Is it possible to sequentially control the Form Text fields & if so, how? Thanks |

Text Field Control Sequence
Jason:
You can recreate the form, inserting the fields in the desired order, or you can control the tabbing sequence using VBA code. Here's a topic on the code approach. http://word.mvps.org/faqs/tblsfldsfms/SetTabOrder.htm Bear -- Windows XP, Word 2000 |

Text Field Control Sequence
Also...
I'd like to mention that this code approach isn't perfect. For example, the built-in Word behavior allows using Tab and Shift+Tab to jump forward or backward. The code controlled approach doesn't duplicate this behavior. I think it should be possible to create a macro that reorders the formfields based on, say, their bookmark names. I'm thinking of replacing each formfield working in the sequence of the sorted bookmark names. Bear -- Windows XP, Word 2000 |
