Default confused with pagination when comes to printing

Hi,

I am confused when it comes to printing off a certain page number in word
03. Consequently, i printed off the wrong page. For example, i have a report
that consists of 180 pages including Appendices (A, B, C and so on)

The page that i want to reprint happen to be somewhere in the middle. Before
printing, i need to tell the printer which pages number to print. I looked
down to the bottom menu where you can find the detail of pagination. It said
it was page 100/180. I put it in but the printout was wrong. I then used the
page number indicated by the scrollbar (when you hold on to the scrollbar,
there is a text comment that said "page 50"). It then printed off the right
one. Strangely, i then discovered that there are more than page 1 (if
scrolling up and down the report) in that 180 pages of report. How does word
know that we actually want page no. say 80 which happens to be page no.1, not
the page no.1 that is from the top of the page.

Hope i explained it well.

Thank you in advance

You are so close.
At the bottom left of the Word window were you see 100/180, over the the
left of this you will see something like Page 100 Sec 5 (example only).
When using the Print Page Range Pages: option type in p100s5 and that will
print the specific page you want.
FYI with this function you can do a selection and range of pages, ie.
p100s5, p102s5, p120s6-p126s6 for example.
Hope this helps
