Default How do I change my text from English to another language

I met some new friends on a recent cruise that are from Germany. They speak
minimal English. I would like to be able to type them a letter in English,
but then change it to German (or however it works in Word) so that they may
read it easily.

How do I go about doing this?

By hiring a translator. Word does not do that.
