Default How do I type in Maths formulas in Word and Excel?

Hi, For my assignment i need to include workings of Maths calculations . They
include net present value calculations. I was wondering if anyone could guide
as to how to make division signs and other maths signs without using "/" as
division for example?

You probably need to use the Equation Editor (which is not installed by
default, but can be added by re-running Word setup) or for division signs
use ALT+0247 (on the numeric keypad) ÷
