Mirroring borders when mirroring margins
Is there any way to set up a document such that the page
border (one vertical line only) stays with the larger of the 2 left and right margins? ie, if left margin=1.25 and right=.05, then vertical line page border appears on the left...if right margin=1.25 and left=.05, then vertical line page border appears on the right... Or is there another way altogether to achieve this? Thanks, MM |

Use different left and right headers. Attach the border to the headers, on
opposite sides. "MM" wrote in message ... Tried that..can't get it to work. Is there a certain
order to the steps that I should take? Should the border be applied to this section, whole document, or...? I have tried several variation to no avail. Do I need some type of break (page, continuous...) on each page of the document? Thanks! I will keep trying! -----Original Message----- Use different left and right headers. Might help if you explain what's going wrong. No, you don't need any breaks.
Left-and-right margins should be applied to whatever part of the document you want ot use them for -- entire document or just a section, your choice. The border should be applied to the HEADER. So you'll need to apply it twice, once to the even page header, once to the odd. "MM" wrote in message ... Tried that..can't get it to work. Is there a certain order to the steps that I should take? The problem, Jezebel, is that the OP is talking about a page border, and
there doesn't seem to be any easy way to mirror that. -- Suzanne S. I don't believe you can use a Page Border for what you are trying to do.
You'll need to create the border manually. That means you won't be able to use Border Art, but you can create many of the fancy line borders using drawing objects. The first thing you'll need to do is check the box for "Different odd and even" on the Layout tab of Page Setup. This will give you a separate Odd Page Header and Even Page Header. Working in each of those headers in turn, insert drawing lines to create your border. Because you are working in the header pane, every line you draw will be anchored to the header paragraph and so will repeat on every odd or even page. -- Suzanne S.
