Office 2003 - Print Layout View in Word Displays Graph-like Backgr
I'm way at my wits end with this and hope someone can help! I prefer to work
in "Print Layout" view. Several weeks ago when I opened a doc to work on a "graph like" background appeared. Looks like graph paper I used to use in physics class! Only visable in "Print Layout" view. If I switch to any other view it disappears. Doesn't show on printed docs, only in this particular "view". Today I tried to convert an existing doc to a PDF file and rec'd msg that doc was corrupt. Any doc that I open has this "background"...what is it and why did it appear? I have tried to fix by deleting Normal.dot., checked a number of settings (and compared with my work computer setting to make sure nothing had changed). tried MS detect and repair, even tried to do system restore but rec'd msg something to the effect that either system restore was turned off (which it never has been) and/or "F" drive changed--can't remember exact wording. Never able to get system restore to run. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. I am ready to throw this laptop out the window..but can't afford to replace yet. OS is Windows XP. Upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003 in mid-August. No known problems until begining of September. Thanks in advance..... mish |
