how do I show the file path/location in Word 2007?
I would like to have a box at top of Word 2007 that shows the full path of
the open file. In Excel2007 this can be done using "location" button added in to Quick Access. But I don't see that button for Word 2007. In Word 2003 this function was one of the "web" buttons. Thanks |

The command you're looking for -- in both programs -- is shown in the
Customize dialog as "Document Location" in the group "Commands Not in the Ribbon". The one in Excel that says only "Location" is the Chart Location button, not the same thing at all. You can also use the same method that worked in Word 2003 and earlier, creating an AutoOpen macro containing the line ActiveWindow.Caption = ActiveDocument.FullName which puts the full path in the title bar. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
