I am having issues with an extra space at the end of a paragraph. I want to
keep it all single spaced, however at the end of the paragraph it and there
on out it changes to a 1.5 space and won't allow me to change it to single
space.

In Format | Paragraph, see whether you have some Spacing Before or After.
