Default OUTLINE NUMBERED TOC

WORD 2003: I have an OUTLINE NUMBERED LIST in my TOC which matches my
document outline. When I entered TOC STYLES 1-4 in the LINK-LEVEL-TO-STYLE
box the TOC returned the desired relult. But here's my problem: When I create
a BOOKMARK TOC heading up each section, the TOC includes two NUMBERED LISTS,
like this: XIII. I. (TOC HEADING). I should perhaps also mention that the
document has multiple (In-Genral \ In Depth) TOC's. DID I WIN?

Default OUTLINE NUMBERED TOC

You should not need to add numbering to your TOC styles, as the TOC entries
will pick up the numbering from your headings.

Default OUTLINE NUMBERED TOC

Thank you for the quick response! The TOC entries picked up the numbering
from my headings without having to add numbering to my TOC STYLES - I used
these styles in order to have the numbering picked up in a TC FIELD -- where
the numbering was not picked up without these modifications. Is there a
switch to include numbering in a TC FIELD?

Default OUTLINE NUMBERED TOC

A TC field is used to create literal text for TOC to pick up. It doesn't
include numbering unless you include numbering in the field. Why are you
using TC fields?

Default OUTLINE NUMBERED TOC

"PRACTICE IN WORD" - from "MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD HELP" / TRAINING / MULTIPLE
TOC's / - My document requires: GENERAL TABLE OF CONTENTS (TOC field) ;
IN-DEPTH TABLE OF CONTENTS - PART I and PART II - with sub-headings (TC
fields "C" and "D" for PARTS I and II respectively - to update on separate
pages); and BOOK-MARK TOC's throughout each section. The actual content is
about 350 pages.

I'm not sure whether you mean that a school assignment requires that you use
TC fields for practice or that you have a practical reason for using them,
but it should not be necessary to use TC fields just to get subheadings.
