Default Where do I find the @ symbol in word?

I can't find the @ symbol from Insert / Symbol. Where can I find it. This
seems like a fairly common symbol.

It is so common that it is on your keyboard. Hold down the shift key and
press the number 2.

And if for some reason you *really* need to find it in the Symbol
dialog, it's just after the ? and just before the A in any font that
uses letters (as opposed to decorative fonts like Wingdings). You can
also find it by typing 64 into the Character Code box when the ASCII
(decimal) setting is selected.
