Default hiragana symbols

how do i get hiragana symbols if my word 03 does not have asian text in
insert symbol tab.

is there another way around this or is there somewhere i can downlaod an
update from.

Default hiragana symbols

There's a separate Unicode block for the kana that you don't need the
Japanese IME installed for; choose a font like Arial Unicode or Tahoma
and you should get it in Insert Symbol.

Or, type the Unicode number for a kana followed by Alt-X, and when the
character appears, you can see what font it's in.

Or, install Japanese (Start Control Panel Regional & Language
Settings Language; sheck the box for "Asian scripts" and then
continue on to Japanese). You'll need your Windows installation disk
to do it.
