I need to post msgs on a single 8.5 X 11 in sheet but I would like the font
size grater than 72. How can I do this?

Type in the larger number in the font size window and press enter.

I tried that but the maximum it gives me is 72. I would like to fill the
entire page with just four words.

72 is the largest default setting. You can type a larger number directly in
the size box (without picking it from the list) then press the enter key.
Try 160!
