hyperlink to multiple pages word to PDF
I am creating a word report that refers to a number of different pages from
the PDF a set of financial statements. I don't want to print just have the reader click and go to the appropriate page. Problem, the hyperlinks are set to go to a pdf page but it keeps opening at the last opened page. How do I change that so each one goes where it should |

How did you create the PDF files (if you did)? Are you saying you want hyperlinks in a Word document to go to specific pages in a PDF document? |

I'm going from Word 2003 using Acrobat 8.1, with a Windows XP Pro OS. I did
not create the file, but the application it was produced in appears to be Arbortext Advanced Print Publisher 9.0.325/w, with PDF Producer Acrobat Distiller 8.1.0(Windows) "Jean-Guy Marcil" wrote: "fairminded1" wrote: I am creating a word report that refers to a number of different pages from the PDF a set of financial statements. And, if it is the case, are you planning on converting this Word document to PDF AND keep those links inact? |

Sorry, missed the last question,
1. Yes I want the Word document to go to specific pages in the PDF document. 2. I had not planned to convert the word document into a PDF. This is an assignment that I am submitting for marking. I was planning to forward the 2 documents one as word the other as PDF. Would it be easier if I converted the Word into PDF? Having been down that road before, I can tell you it is no simple task. The problem is that you must tell the hyperlink to go to a specific"named destination" in the PDF file. As such, Word hyperlinks cannot do that. You would need to convert the Word file to a PDf file. Then, in the PDF file you need to modify the hyperlink to get them to point to the bookmarks in the other PDF files, which must be set up with bookmarks at the appropriate pages first. If this is one time deal, it is by far easier to do the whhole thing by hand in your PDF files. See the Acrobat help file on creating named destinations and hyperlinks. If it is something you will do often, you my want to consider purchasing Multilinker at http://www.intelligentdocuments.co.uk/multilinker.htm |
