That only works if you know what "secret words" the information hides
behind. Word used to come with a manual that told you what it could do (and didn't mention what it couldn't do). "Online help" is almost always utterly useless. Even if the information is included, it shows you dozens of topics and expects you to read through each one to see if buried somewhere in it is the nugget you're looking for. And then it has the nerve to ask "Was this helpful? Yes, No, Somewhat" -- though it doesn't ask you what the question was that failed to be answered. I think you are being somewhat unfair. Had you not known to look under
'keyboard shortcuts', 'tab in table' would have given you the result also. find and replace " tabs" set within text in a table
Years ago I (somehow) came across a huge table of all(?) built-in
keyboard shortcuts (I've never found it again) and printed it out -- and that one isn't there. Maybe it's there under another name, but that, as I said, is the problem. find and replace " tabs" set within text in a table
No, that's far from the table I found long ago. The table is strictly
alphabetical by operation performed; when I finally found this one, it was organized by topic, with no index of the topics, and scrolling about 2/3 of the way down, I came to the tables section. find and replace " tabs" set within text in a table
There are a lot of variations available of the Word keyboard shortcuts diagrams/'help'in varying formats and the Word online help content and search drilldown does have room for improvement. Word itself can build a document table of its commands in a document that can be sorted by menu, command name or keyboard sequence. Tools=macros=macro Select 'Word Commands' category Select in the command list ListCommands, then click [Run] ============== "grammatim" wrote in message ...
