Vertical line in margin
I am writing a revision to a document. I am required to denote changes with a line right of the edited material along the right margin. I can get the line using paragraph borders and shading, but the entire paragraph winds up with the line instead of just the affected lines.

Vertical line in margin
Turn Track Changes on and set Tools | Options | Track Changes: Changed lines
to "Right border." If you want to show *only* changed lines, you'll need to set the formatting of insertions to "None" and deletions to "Hidden." But be aware that if you are sending the document electronically, the way it is displayed on the recipient's screen will depend on the local Track Changes settings, not yours. If you're printing the document, however, this will give you what you want. -- Suzanne S.
