Default Looking for great document designs

When it comes to ideas or inspiration for web pages I usually turn to
www.coolhomepages.com which highlights the websites that are aesthetically
and functionally appealing. I'm looking for ideas and/or examples of business
documents that have these same qualities.

I truly believe that the way information is displayed is just as important
as the information itself.

Does anyone know of any sites, books, etc. that have examples of
well-designed business documents? I'm already familiar with the book "MS
Office Document Designer" by Krieger.

These do not have to be isolated to MS Office documents. I'm looking for
great ways to present business-related information ranging from
process/policy documents to financial information.

Hi

I suggest you start with a good book on typography. Robert Bringhust's The
Elements of Typographic Style is my favourite, although it's in no way
specific to Word.

Then, read just about anything by Edward Tufte.

Hope this helps.

Hi Shauna,

Thanks for the reply. I am very familiar with Tufte and his book Envisioning
Information. He also has a site with a wealth of information, however I must
say that ironically the site is difficult to navigate and access information.

Since asking this question I did come across the site www.designiy.com. This
is exactly what I was looking for in that it contains links to design
resources, articles, examples, and more.
