How can I tell when Caps Lock is on?
How can you tell when the Caps Lock button is on? I do not see any
indication of this when I press it and then press it again to deactivate. I am a new user to Windows XP. |

Some keyboards don't have a lighted indication. I have a wireless keyboard
and the CAP Lock indicatore is displayed momentarily on the monitor when CAPS Lock is toggled. Unfortunately there is no permanent display. -- Greg Maxey/Word MVP See: http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/word_tips.htm For some helpful tips using Word. My wireless keyboard doesn't have any indication either which I do find
slightly irritating. I also don't run the keyboard software so don't even get the momentary indication on toggling. Excel does give an indication on the status bar but nothing I know in Word does the same - except the appearance of a lot of upper case letters! -- Enjoy, Tony "Greg Maxey" wrote in message ... Well, then you could umm, lets see. Just type one letter and see -OR- pop off
the caps lock key and never use it and just use the shift key -OR- you could make a post it note and everytime you turn it on make a line, then when you turn it off scratch out the line, attatch this to the keyboard -OR- just type everything in lower-case and just have spell check fix it. Hope that helps. :-) "Greg Maxey" wrote: Some keyboards don't have a lighted indication. An earlier version of Word (all the way back to Word 2.0, I think) did have
CAPS in the status bar. Until I researched this a while back, I would have sworn that it had been present in Word much later, but evidently I had been misled by seeing it in Excel. -- Suzanne S.
