two documents side by side?
Win XP Pro SP3 and Office 2003
I just got a widescreen monitor and have been looking forward to having two Word documents open side by side so that I could refer to one while I write the other. But I'm not having much success. When I open the two documents and resize them so that they fit next to each other, the text isn't reformatted and I have to use the horizontal scrollbar on each document to read to the end of each line - obviously, this is not what I'd hoped for :-) I see that I can open the documents horizontally, one on top and the other on bottom. Is this the only way to do what I want or is there a trick for opening them side by side without extensive use of the horizontal scrollbar? Thanks. Louise |

Hi Louise,

Needless to say, I can't read it at 50%. This is a 21" LCD. It seems to me that the "solution" would be that Word would automatically reformat the text for the reduced size of the window - is that my dream - or is that possible to achieve? Thanks again. Word does do that in Reading Layout view (Onscreen Reading view in Word
2007), but it is not WYSIWYG. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "louise" wrote in message ...
