Open Slow on Words
Hello,
I have some single page documents take 2-3 min to open. I found out on the bottom of the word page - it's showing "contacting \\server\xx...". Looks like to it is trying to contact that non-existance server. And that server had been retired. There is no hyperlink or UNC path on document - I looked from top to bottom of that page. I setup a computer using retired server name that document is trying to contact, document opened in 2 seconds. Is there away or fix to make those documents not to contact the server which is not existed any more? Thanks for the help! |

Open Slow on Words
The documents are almost certainly looking for the attached template on the
old server. If you re-attach the template (tools templates and add-ins - or in Word 2007 Developer Tab Document Template) once the document is opened, it should open normally next time. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org RayRogers wrote: Hello, I have some single page documents take 2-3 min to open.
