How do I restore an accidentally erased text?
I stupidly highlighted an important letter I wrote and then by accident hit
the backspace button, deleting the text. Is there any way to get it back? Thanks. |

If you still have the document open, click on the Undo button.

If you haven't yet closed the document, click Undo. (And remember this for
the next time -- DON'T PANIC is not just the slogan for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!) If you saved and closed an empty document (why would you do that??), then I hope you have a backup copy or at least a printed version you can retype. See http://www.gmayor.com/automatically_backup.htm for a means of preventing any repeat disasters. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
