Right-click each style button in turn and click the Modify button, and look at the definitions (then click Cancel to close the dialog without changing the style). In the out-of-the-box Normal.dotm template, you would see this: - The Normal style has 1.15 line spacing within the paragraph and 10 points space after the paragraph. This is the default for Word 2007. - The No Spacing style has neither extra line spacing nor extra space after (which was the default for Word 2003 and earlier). Evidently your Normal.dotm template has been modified -- possibly by selecting the Word 2003 style set in the Change Styles Style Set gallery and then making it the default style set. Try selecting the Word 2007 style set. Does that make it match your text book? -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
