Default word converting to pdf / page numbers do not convert correctly

Hi, when converting a Word 2007 document to PDF using Acrobat 8 Pro,
the page numbers do not convert correctly. In the word doc, the page
numbers run normally i.e. page 1 of 5, page 2 of 5, page 3 of 5 etc.
However, once cobverted to PDF, the page numbers run like so - page 1
of 1, page 2 of 2, page 3 of 3 etc. How do I fix this? Both Word 2000
and Acrobat 5 are new installations with the default settings. Any
help would be appreciated.
