How does one format font type and size of Line Numbers?

Set up with File | Page Setup | Layout | Line Numbers | Whole Doc

The body is Arial 9 pt. The Line Numbers look like Times 12 pt.

Going to Format | Styles & Formatting does not seem to offer Line Numbers as
an option. Line Numbers are not in a header/footer.

In the Styles & Formatting task pane, set the "Show" dropdown at the
bottom to "All styles". Then you should be able to find the Line
Numbers style.

If it still doesn't show up, set the dropdown to "Custom". In the
resulting dialog, click the Styles... button at the bottom left to get
the master list of all defined styles.
